National Pharmacy Week

The institute celebrates National Pharmacy Week (NPW) every year in month of November. The moto of 6 days celebration is-

  1. To make the budding Pharmacist aware of their duties and responsibilities to serve the society.
  2. To make the society aware of Pharmacist’s importance in their health care.
  3. To pay sincere tribute to Prof. M.L. Schroff – Father of Indian Pharmacy Education.
  4. Organizing blood donation camps.
  5. Pharmacist training programme for refreshing knowledge of practicing Pharmacist.
  6. Cultural and Social Service events.

At TIT College of Pharmacy 6 days National Pharmacy Week 2009 celebration was completed successfully. Its success was due to enthusiasm, collegiality and intellectual stimulation of the organizing committee and the participants. The first two days of the National Pharmacy Week Celebration involves the national level seminar on the thrust areas of research including the most recent advances in different fields of Pharmacy and a training programme for Pharmacists. This occasion began with the lighting of the lamp and a heartly tribute was paid to the father of Indian Pharmacy Prof. M.L.Schroff. The Inaugural function of the National Pharmacy week was chaired by Dr. S.K. Nayak as the Chief Guest. Dr. Nayak in his inaugural speech directed the students to fulfill the dreams of Prof. M.L. Schroff in order to channelize future Pharma research and other Pharma activities in the proper direction for the benefit of mankind. In the scientific session, which includes presentations on research in different field of Pharmacy. The top performance in the presentation was felicitated, the first prize was won by Mr. Mohit Sahu and Ms. Neha Rao of TIT College of Pharmacy and the second prize was won by Ms. Tanu Sharma and Mr. Susheel Baghel of Laxmi Narayan college of Pharmacy. In this Programme Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Controller, Petroleum & Explosive Control Organization (Govt. of India), gave lession about Team work to all Pharmacy students and Pharmacist. One day Pharmacist Training Camp was conducted for Pharmacist working in the hospitals and medical stores. In this Pharmacist Training Programme about 250 Pharmacists were participated. This Pharmacist Training Programe was an innovative and interactive training program that teaches Pharmacists the skills necessary for better Pharmacy practice including better storage and quality maintainance of medicines.

The National Pharmacy Week cum National Seminar was jointly organized by TIT College of pharmacy and Association of Pharmaceutical teachers in India (APTI),M.P. The chief guest of this Pharmacist Training Programme was Dr. S.K. Yadav, President of APTI, M.P.

In the next phase of this programme students of TIT COP gave useful information about Dengue, Malaria, Swine flu, Diarrhoea, etc diseases and symptoms to the villagers of Hathaikheda and Kokta. 44 students and 7 faculty members donated blood in this special occasion. All students and faculty members donated clothes and blankets to the disabled and orphans.

In the closing ceremony the cultural programme and indoor games added fun to the celebration. The top performance in these extra curricular activities was also felicitated. The first prize in solo dance won by Mr. Abhishek of Laxmi Narayan college of Pharmacy and Ms. Shivam Priya of TIT College of Pharmacy in boys group and in girls group respectively.

At last but not the least Vote of thanks was given by the Director of the institute Dr. B.K. Dubey and congratulates all students and all faculty members of TIT College of Pharmacy for the successful completion of the National Pharmacy Week 2009 celebration.

Technical Events

Scientific workshops and Seminars are regularly conducted in the institute. This updates the scientific knowledge of the students. Lot of scientific posters and papers are presented by the students from entire country. Best poster and paper is awarded accordingly.
