Since its inception in the year 1999, the department with the well-knit faculty, demonstrating high professionalism puts the graduating engineers on excellent steroids in preparation for the performance needed to navigate among the opportunities abounding in today's world of internet and e-revolution. The Department has faculty members specialized in Compiler Design, Artificial Intelligence , RDBMS, Computer Networks, Neural Networks, Data Communication, OOPS, Data Structures and Algorithm, Digital Signal Processing, Software Engineering, Operating Systems, Network Security and Web Engineering. Association Activities

Department has an active students chapter of Institution of Engineers. Under its banner guest lectures are conducted by eminent personalities from both industry & academic background. Annual National Level Technical Symposium “Tech Utopia” is organized every year.

Student's Achievements outside college:

Department encourages students for attending seminars and workshops in different institutes for developing their technical skills. The students of the institute present research papers in different institutes all over the State as well National Level as at.

2. 3 students cleared SSB.
3. 13 students cleared GATE 2010.
4. 2 students cleared SCJP in VI semester.

The Department of Information Technology was first started in 1999 with aim to provide our state and nation, quality graduates who will contribute to the development of the country in meeting Vision 2020.
Initially Graduate program was started with an intake of 120 and in year 2006. Masters Program was introduced in Information Technology with an intake of 18.Graduate & Postgraduate students of are encouraged participate in International & National level Conferences and publish technical papers in journals of repute.
Currently, we have 360 students in our four-year graduate program, 36 in 2 years Master program, 26 academic staffs and 10 support staffs in the department. Though the numbers are small, we take great pride in the close rapport between the staff and the students which has always been the trademark for the department. The department itself has different labs supporting our curricula and our niche areas – Information technology.

Information Technology

Information Technology Department is well-equipped with some of the most defined and technically modern laboratories to provide a superior level of practical education to its students. The laboratories are specifically designed with excellent facilities to meet the requirements of A.I.C.T.E. and RG Techinical University. Advanced equipments and hardware/softwares are added to the laboratories each year thus keeping them updated.

		DBMS Lab Students Working in Programming laboratory for creating database applications. Laboratory is equiped with latest configuration 60 HP core 2 Duo systems with Oracle 10g.
OOT Lab Students Working in Programming Laboratory for creating programs for Object Oriented Technology. Laboratory is equiped with latest configuration 60 HP core 2 Duo systems with C, C++ and Matlab 7.0.
		.NET & Java Lab Students Working in the .Net and Java laboratory. Laboratory is equiped with latest configuration 60 HP core 2 Duo systems with .Net and Java.

Departmental events are organized to explore the creativity and intellectual capabilities of students as well as to aware them about the latest technologies and innovations in the Information Technology field.

TECHUTOPIA is the annual technical symposium organized by the combined efforts of the students and faculty of the Information Technology Department. Truely defining its meaning TECHUTOPIA is the celebration of the enigmatic, innovative and ingenious minds which aims at providing a conducive platform to young engineering students to interact with other students and exchange their ideas and explore their creative limits.

As per the market requirement, IT Engineers are to update their knowledge regularly. For this purpose department planned different activities:
• The department organizes a Technical Event every year for paper presentation and various technical activities .
• The department invites Guest Lectures and Expert Lectures from outside experts.
• The department will organize technical workshops where the students learn various networking activities.
• The department plans to organize additional lectures for weak students.
• The department organize social activities as a part of social service to the nation.
